‘Sellers’ market is cooling’: San Diego home price falls for first time this year

San Diego County’s median home price fell for the first time this year in August.

The median home price fell to $889,500, down 1.2% from the previous month, according to Attom Data Solutions, which combines sales of single-family homes, townhouses and condos. Despite sluggish sales and affordability issues, San Diego’s home prices have been unchanged, or rising, throughout much of the year.

San Diego home prices flat for the first time in 2 years

For the first time in almost two years, San Diego home prices didn’t increase.

The median home price in San Diego County was $900,000 in April, flat year-over-year, said Attom Data Solutions. The last time the median, a combination of all closed sales of single-family houses, townhouses and condos, didn’t go up was May 2023 when prices were down 1.64%.

San Diego home prices: annual gains wiped out

If you bought a San Diego home one year ago, there’s a chance it’s now worth less than what you paid.

San Diego County’s median home price was $750,000 in February, said CoreLogic data released Wednesday, down 2.6 percent from the same time last year. It’s the first time in more than three years that the annual price went down. It also marked the ninth month in a row of price declines.
